Women who develop breast cancer either before pregnancy or during pregnancy really experience very little and show few differences in the severity of breast cancer. The difficulties may occur because the woman must wait until after the baby is born to receive medical treatment. Unfortunately this is very rare and does cause some difficulty for the medical physician handling the case.

Women in general receiving a diagnosis of breast cancer during pregnancy are a problem for the medical physician to treat. There are so many medications the young woman is unable to have because of the pregnancy. These young women are in jeopardy, but it will also depend how far into the pregnancy they are when they receive the diagnosis.

Women under the age of forty receiving a diagnosis is not rare, but it is still very unusual because breast cancer remains mainly with older women as it does today. Unfortunately the reality is that pregnancy does contribute to the delay in the ready treatment and medication that is available. The longer the woman delays the more at risk the woman becomes and this is the dilemma for the medical profession.

Women who find themselves pregnant and receiving a diagnosis of breast cancer also runs the risk of poor health which is obviously unhealthy for the unborn baby. When the woman receives a diagnosis of breast cancer early in the pregnancy there is an unspoken uncertainty the woman will survive the entire ordeal and the delivery of the baby.

Many of the primary care medical physicians also dealing the reproductive tract have the ability to treat both mother and child to help with the birth of a very healthy baby. The young woman must listen to the medical physician closely and follow the instructions to sustain this pregnancy and remain as healthy as possible. There are multidisciplinary treatments that can be utilized, but when and how is going to remain a difficulty until the baby is finally born.

Pregnant women’s hormone levels also change during pregnancy as they do throughout life. These hormone levels also lead to obvious changes in the breasts. Hormone changes during pregnancy can be difficult to predict. A few of the factors associated with pregnancy are for reducing a woman’s chance of breast cancer in later years.

Studies have found women, even young women can develop breast cancer at any time during their busy lives. The idea is for the young woman to seek the medical assistance required as quickly as possible. The earlier the young woman can receive treatment and medications the better chance she has. In many cases the breast cancer will develop either during or within one year after pregnancy. The medical community really has no concrete reason as to why this even happens.

Medical physicians and the medical community as a whole are working diligently trying to explain why situations such as this happen, but without any clear evidence. This will take time, but in the end there should be answers Medical communities working with the American Cancer Society are trying to find the cause and new methods of treatment for breast cancer. In the case of the young pregnant mother they are all working diligently to come up with a scientifically proven method to help mother and child.
