Exercise for anyone is a beneficial but women who have a diagnosis of breast cancer it can become a life long journey. When you are starting out standing in front of a brick wall there is only one thing to do. You must pick yourself up, climb over that wall, and not allow it to be your obstacle. No matter what is going on in your life, just remember it is your life.

Now, how about trying your hand on some exercise? Mild exercise is a good thing and sometimes it will even change the way you perceive things. A positive outlook on life even though you are facing months of therapy because of breast cancer is still no reason not to get yourself up and out. Even a few hours of devoted time to walking will help to increase your attitude and your stamina. Make it easy for yourself and you can combine shopping, even window-shopping, at your favorite mall. The idea is to get out there and start walking to help keep your muscles tone.

Tried walking, is walking is not for you, try something else instead. Do you enjoy hiking down dirt trails or high up into the mountains? Well strap on those mountain boots and get going. There are other forms of exercise you can try your hand at like bicycle riding, swimming, or even a slow jog. The whole idea is to get yourself out there and start rebuilding your body. You might even surprise yourself and rebuild your self-esteem too.

You see, women who exercise to the equivalent of walking for at least one hour a week for a round trip of two to three miles increased the stamina, rebuilt up the muscles and outlook on life and had a lower risk of dying from breast cancer. Exercise helps all women suffering from breast cancer both physically and psychologically because just the mere fact that you are getting yourself outside to accomplish a task is taking the right direction.

However, after a long-term study performed over a ten year period the medical community found that ninety-two percent of the women who participated in a controlled exercise program for up to five hours a week remained alive compared to other women who participated in little to no exercise. Just keep in mind there are psychological factors involved with this. What was found interesting was the fact that women with estrogen sensitive tumors who exercised, reduced the level of estrogen within their bodies.

Women realize how much is at stake. Every small step you take is a step in a positive direction. You are the shining light for all the women who follow behind in your footsteps. Just as you walk in the footsteps of other women who walked this same path before you and pioneered the way to unity. It is precisely because of all the women who came before you that chose not to remain silent. Now it is your turn to hold your head high and speak out for the countless women that will be right behind you.

Breast cancer today is so much more survivable than it ever was. Perhaps one day this horrible, debilitating malady will finally be put to rest and on a list of other past diseases that are gone because of medical science. However, it the meantime, you must persevere and continue the march forward into all of the tomorrows. Understand that this is no easy feat to accomplish, but all women everywhere must stand tall together and continue to bring attention to this taker of lives. Remembering too that although women are the ones to predominantly be afflicted, there is a population of men who receive a diagnosis of breast cancer too.

Breast cancer being a debilitating disease often forces women to perceive life differently. Sometimes a vacation for a chance to get away is what is in order. An opportunity to get away for a few days or a week is entertaining pleasant thoughts. Deciding where to go and if you would rather take a trip alone or with family members. These are all the thoughts that are probably going through your head right about now. Okay, so you received a diagnosis of breast cancer on your last medical doctor’s visit. Now you must decide if you are going to fight and beat the breast cancer or if you area going to allow the breast cancer to beat you.

Time is now for you to take a little break and give your self a chance to organize your thoughts. Think about where you would like to go and if you would like to spend time with your family. Sometimes women need to have a little time to be alone, to have a chance to sort this out. Can you afford to spend a few days or a week at a resort? Are you thinking about taking your children to spend a little quality family time somewhere quiet and peaceful?

Choices, choices, it certainly is not easy is it? Maybe you just want to spend some quality time with your own brothers and sisters. The choice is yours to make and if you decide taking a trip somewhere to sort out your thoughts, this is okay too. However you will have to pay close attention to what you pack for this trip. Some of the items you may want to pack to bring along are the following items.

Bring along a sunhat, sunscreen, and skin care

Bring along some sanitizing gel, and refreshing sports drinks

Bring along a sweater or two for those chilly nights

Bring along all your necessary medication

Try to talk about your travel plans with your medical physician. Maybe your medical physician will have a few helpful tips for your travel to be one that is successful, relaxing, and rewarding for you. Bring along your insurance information incase you need it while you are away. Ask your insurance representative if you have standing and continuous health coverage even when you leave the state you reside. They may be able to recommend a hospital for you in case of an emergency.

Traveling will make you stop and think of what you will need. You might want to consider making copies of all your current prescriptions to bring with you incase you lose any of your medication. Before you leave be sure pack a few extra refills of your current medication. The whole idea is for you not to run out of your medication. This may not seem very important, but once you are on your way you will understand just how important this really is for everyone concerned.

Know, when you have made your decision on where you would like to travel there is something you will have to consider. If you are planning to travel to a country where some of your medication is on a list for illegal drugs you will need to have a note from your medical physician. The note will need the specifics on why this medication is important for you. This you will keep in a very special place because this is now a very important document. Preparing the best you know how it is time to grab those airplane tickets and get ready for a wonderful take off to a destination of your choice.
